Self Inside Sales Training Method #2

The absolute best sales training method know to man, or woman, is listening to audio tapes of your calls.

I recommend that you get a recorder and jack and record a number of your sales calls each day. Listening to them latter will be very revealing. You don’t need to be a great sales theorist or even have any super knowledge of sales. Just listening to the calls will reveal obvious errors and things you could improve.

This is where the first tool, reading, comes in handy. If you’ve been reading then you will have ideas on things you should be doing. When you listen to the calls you will find that you spot places where these new techniques could have been applied.

Do this for just two weeks on a regular basis – say 3 times a week and you will already notice a big difference in your confidence and call quality.

Self Inside Sales Training Method #3

The third tool is an amazingly transformative exercise. Listen to self-development audios and read self-development books.

If you simply read 10 pages of a good book every day and listen for at least 20 minutes to some great self-development materials on CD in less that two weeks you will feel the difference.

Ten pages of reading takes about 30 minutes for the average person and you can easily rack up 20 minutes of listening by just using your car as a drive time university.

I suggest that you get Jeff Olsen’s “The Slight Edge” as one of your first books. It also comes in a combo pack for $20 with the CDs and its worth every penny. Think and Grow Rich and How to Win Friends and Influence People are also great additions to your self development library.
